FORD Sport Utility Vehicle line
Combine the business of quality and performance with the Ford SUV line. Whether it’s the bold performance of a V6, the off-road strength of a V8 or the control of fully independent suspension, that seats seven adults comfortably (with optional third-row seat) and features optional Rear Seat DVD Entertainment System.
Eddie Bauer & Limited models feature standard heated leather front bucket
seats; 8-way power adjustments; and a 2-driver memory function 2-passenger
bench seat that expands maximum seating capacity to 7; easily folds away to
provide extra cargo space. Smooth-shifting 5-speed automatic overdrive transmission.
For bigger loads or climbing mountain roads, the 2005 Explorer offers an available 239-hp 4.6L V8 engine. Fully independent rear suspension & Reverse Sensing System (standard on Eddie Bauer & Limited)
When it comes to backing up, everyone could use an extra pair of eyes. The rear parking assist gives you audio warning when approaching various obstacles. Works while the vehicle is in reverse at speeds less than 3 mph with an effective range of up to 5 feet (standard on Eddie Bauer models)

Before you can choose the right one, you have to decide what you'll be using it for: - How many passengers will you be carrying?
- What kind of cargo will you be hauling on a regular basis?
- And its weight?
- Are you going to be trailering?
- And what's the weight of your loaded
trailer?
You also need to determine the right body type. For example, if you know you
need room for 5 to 6 people and you also want to carry building
materials, you may be interested in a Expedition or Suburban.
When it comes to choosing drive type, you've got two choices: Two-Wheel Drive
or Four-Wheel Drive.
